This stone is likely to have marked a six meer lease at the east end of Wash Vein to the east of John Young gate on Grassington moor, which was granted to Henry Wrathall and partners in 1755. Henry Wrathall (1749-1792) came from a Grassington family, and his father William worked the vein before him.
