This is a founder stone. The original location of this stone is unrecorded. George Hasleham was, according to Bitish Mining No. 42, responsible for the day to day management of mining on the moor between the 1750s and his death in 1792. According to Raistrick, George Hasleham and partners were working in the Fourteen Meers vein in 1763, when they were in a dispute with George Bagshaw. The company was leasing 10 meers at the time of the Brailsford map in 1781.
