Discolouration Showing the Old Water Level

This photograph, taken in July 2012, shows how the old water level behind the dam is marked by a discolouration of the rock. The spike on the left was used to hold the compressed air pipe during the original construction. The sudden change that can be seen in the dip of the rock bedding is associated with the North Craven Fault through which the level runs. Click the image to see a larger version
