Notts Pot Alternative Entrance - Rigging Guide

Back to the index of articles

This series of articles is intended for the guidance of experienced cavers, who may not be familiar with the details of the best routes through the more complex systems in the Yorkshire Dales. To echo the sentiments in Northern Caves, it "is intended as guidance for the wise, not the obedience of fools"

Notts Pot Alternative Entrance

Tackle Required

Rope: 9 m; 11 m;
Carabiners / Maillons: 3

Notes:

There is a short 3 m pitch accessed from a ledge on the second pitch that lands in the Upper Series. As this is vulnerable to abrasion, and the rope more than often than not gets stuck in a crack when being pulled back, a fixed pit rope has been installed. Please do not remove.

The bolts were installed as part of the IC resin anchor bolting programme.
